Update 40A Advanced Kit to 48A?

Hello all, I was wondering if someone could give me some info on the exact parts necessary to modify my 40A Advanced OpenEVSE (purchased 11/2020)? I would believe that I would need a 48A J1772 cable and a Struthers-Dunn 50A Relay, but what else I am needing? I would of course have 6AWG wire be connected directly to the unit (currently it has a 14-50R plug) and a 60A circuit breaker in the panel.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

60A breaker

NEMA 14-60R outlet or hard wire

48A J1772 cable


We only ship 50A Struthers Dunn relays regardless of the kit/cable/

Brian, I am planning the same thing. So far I got the cable from ebay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/J1772-Charging-Cable-80amp-/233929752623?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 I will have to upgrade my breaker from 40a to 50a and replace the 10 AGW wires. Relay I have already supports 50 AMP. What do you think about upgrading to 80AMP? Thank you
