Contactor not opening when charge completed - Vehicle reports error

I have a strange problem that I have not been able to find on the forums. My new build charges perfect and everything seems fine until the charge is complete. Upon completion, I get a charger error every time. I also noticed during charging when I use the webpage and set the charger to disabled the contractor stays closed. Is that normal? I seem to remember the click sound on my old charger once i stopped the charge. If i try to resume charging from the webpage, the EVSE reports vehicle connected but charger is sleeping and does not restart unless I physically remove the charger from the vehicle. Contractor remains still closed long after the charge is complete (and vehicle reports an error). It only opens when i physically unplug the charger.

a few things I've checked:

- Tried 2 EVs. Ford Lightning and a Cadillac Escalade IQ. Same results on both

- 240v remains on the grey contractor wires after charge complete or charge stopped

- Double and triple checked all wiring

- Moved smaller wires around to try and distance them from the large wires

- Tested varying amps on the charger 6a to 48a works perfect and vehicle responds with correct amps.

My J1772 cable was removed from an Emporia charger (EVSE Store is sold out of J1772) I don't believe this is an issue as the pilot wire appears to work perfect.

I am leaning towards a software issue or hardware on the board itself.

Any ideas?

I think this is normal. With my vehicle (ID.3) if I set it to charge to 80% the vehicle stops drawing current but the EVSE contactor stays closed until the cable is unplugged. If I switch on the AC or heater, or if I want to increase the charge to 100%, I want it to draw extra current from the EVSE. With the contactor open the EVSE would have no way of knowing to close again to provide additional power.
