Blew component of the Controller Board. Can I replace 5.5 with 6.5?

After trying to replace the dc/dc converter (unsuccessfully), a component is blown (see photo). I am not going to test my skills again, but replace the controller board. I would like to:

Upgrade the board from 5.5 to 6.5
Upgrade the lid to the 3.5" display
Be able to charge from TT-30R when available

My expected parts list is:

6.5 Controller ($130)
Display ($60)
Lid ($40)

Am I taking a gamble that nothing else is broken? Everything else looks fine.

Are there additional parts that I would need?

Will a generic 14-50 to TT30R adapter off of Amazon work to give me 30A/120v (3.6kW) charging?
