My OpenEVSE is about 8 years old (originally called the OpenEVSE Kit - Level1 & Level2 50A).
A few months ago it blew out the controller board, so I replaced it with a v6.5 controller board and new 3.5" LCD/WiFi. It still has the original Struthers and Dunn 450BXX102 contactor.
I just finished assembling it and plugged it in to test it. After configuring the WiFi, etc, I started a charge, and a very loud buzzing started. It continued as long as I had the charge running (20 seconds or so). It seemed to charge without issue, and no errors were recorded. I tried stopping and started the charge again, no change. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, no change.
I am unable to attach the video (too large), but you can see it on YouTube at this link: https://youtube.com/shorts/ma-8up0g7ew I am on a TOU plan in SoCal, and charge from midnight to 6am, so this level of noise would not endear me with the neighbors.
If this needs a new contactor, that is an easy fix. Just want to be sure.
Thanks!

My Openevse charger is about 16 months old. It has just started producing a loud noise when charging. Apparently 366Hz. It's charging ok and not getting noticeably warm. If I stop and restart charging the noise goes away, at least for a while. It sounds like a buzzer but I don't think there's a buzzer? "Safety" menu shows "No Ground" count of 1. Everything else 0/ok.
