Designing EV side power solutions (Type 2, Lvl 2 AC charging)

Hello,

Happy New Year to the OpenEVSE team! I currently live in a city area where there are more public EV chargers than EVs. My city is slowly phasing out ICE vehicles and replacing them with EVs. But  their foresight involves setting up enough public/residential condo chargers before increasing the number of electric vehicles. I'm actually impressed by such foresight!

So my requirements are actually building custom EV chargers so they can be adapted to e-mopeds and e-bikes rather than your goal of helping people build DIY custom EV chargers at home for their EVs which are (often) cars.

Previously, I was using EV adapters such as these

to output current to a standard household 220 - 250V AC plug. However, I suspect it doesn't implement full comms protocol so it works only on some companies' ESVE.

So my requirements are actually building custom EV chargers so they can be adapted to charge e-mopeds and e-bikes and extend their range, contrary to your goal of helping people build DIY custom EV chargers at home for their EVs which are (often) cars.

So I would like some help to implement the correct protocols that is universally accepted by most, if not all public ESVE chargers.

My design would be broad and to keep things simple, implement universal Type 2, Level 2, 1-ph AC charging. A sample would be like the following:

If there are kits to help, or design services, I would like to consider your offerings
