Australia RCM Certification

Hi,

Speaking to my electrician in Australia, about purchasing an OpenEVSE unit and getting him to install it.  He mentioned that as the unit didnt have the 'RCM tick', the unit wouldn't be able to be installed.

Some more detail on what RCM is here https://austest.com.au/au-nz-approvals/ or https://youtu.be/ZipOu72HGkU?list=PL7adncFhg2pVPeRwhG6fY59HHXVp7pXqV

Wondering if anyone who installed OpenEVSE in Australia or New Zealand had gone down the path of getting their devices certified?

Thanks

I realize that this post is 9 months old now, so maybe no longer relevant, but why would you need to have an electrician install the OpenEVSE? Why wouldn't the electrician just be installing a 32A socket and you plug it in like any other appliance?

Most OpenEVSE stations are plug in and do not require an electrician to install the station.
