I had Open EVSE installed in 2021 and had it running fine for 2 years without any problem.
However, this Morning I found that my car no longer charge, upon checking the charger I found that the Circuit Breaker was tripped. So I opened the box and inspected the controller board and found burn mark on the PP Pin ( see attached photo). This has caused the charger stop working and the internal charging board of my EV was damaged and need replaced.
Does anyone have any theory what would cause this issue on PP Pin ?
We would recommend inspecting the pilot wire. Did it cross over a High voltage line and melt somewhere? That kind of damage does not happen with 12v DC.
