conduit for SAE J1772 Type 1 - EV Cable 25' ?

I'm replacing my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica plugin hybrid original EVSE with an Open EVSE because varmints chewed the cable between the electronics brick and the vehicle.

If I buy about ten or twelve feet of pex or similar tubing, can I bury it and run the cable that goes to the vehicle (

through it to give it a little more protection from being nibbled?

or would it be better to put something to deter chewing on the EVSE cable to the vehicle, like this https://www.amazon.com/Electriduct-Resistant-Repellent-Protection-Expandable/dp/B07VBZXQWZ ?
