Cable strain relief max cable diameter

The standard gland will support cables from 0.512" - 0.669"
A larger gland available here Large Gland supports 0.709" - 0.945"

I was wondering what the maximum cable diameter is allowed for the strain relief ? Seemingly a typical range replacement cable from Home Depot is a good power connection however I found that the cable is too large so now I am thinking of getting some SOOW cable however it is special order (8/3) so it would be good to know if it will fit before purchase.
