OCPP 1.6J supports payment prior to charge authorization. OCPP central Service providers generally charge a monthly fee per station and a percentage of the sales.
Does anyone have a list of OCPP service providers that support OCPP v1.6 Pay to Charge on OpenEVSE?
OCPP 1.6J is a standard protocol and the most commonly supported version, there is likely dozens of them if not hundreds. Do you have any potentials that meet your needs and cost objectives. The key will be to find one inexpensive enough that the income is higher the monthly fees.
I'm researching options now.
Do you (or anyone else) have information on a successful implementation of OpenEVSE and a CSMS?
Is this it? https://github.com/gregszalay/ocpp-csms
There has been nothing posted in 3 years and very basic stuff on the todo list.
STEVE is much more active and mature, OpenEVSE works well with STEVE.

I have two Level 2 charging stations at my office building that are open to the public. These are two JuiceBox (blue) stations which work fine as standalone chargers.
I haven't been charging for charging but it is getting increasingly expensive due to increased use.
I'm exploring setting up "Pay to Charge" but it seems complicated. I would probably need to get new charging stations and set up a payment method.
I believe that Charge point offers a solution but it seems expensive.
It seems the OCPP protocol v2 and above supports pay to charge but OpenEVSE only supports v1.6.
Any suggestions?
