I note that many devices, like the Shelly Pro 3EM-120A and the CARLO GAVAZZI EM530 communicate via RS485 using the Modbus protocol. I'm looking at installing several EVSE at an apartment complex and would like to know if I can just install the EVSE and wire them all to one of these devices and have them adjust their demand to meet the available power capacity.
It is surprisingly difficult to find some cost-effective solution that will allow power sharing and dynamic load management for a simple smallish apartment complex installation. We're only looking at 11 EVSE, but, because it is an older building, are limited on power.
